Growth Without Borders ("we", "us" or "our") is based in Toronto, Canada. This policy covers our website, The Global Leader's Compass Scorecard, our booking pages and our emails. Eva Aimable-Kolosko, the founder of Growth Without Borders is responsible for how we handle your personal information.

Information we collect

Visiting our website

Squarespace hosts our website. On each visit, Squarespace records your IP address, your browser and device, the page you came from, and the pages you view. We use this to keep the site running and to see which pages people read. Squarespace uses some of it to keep its own service secure, as its policy explains.

Sending us a message

The forms on the Contact, Speaking and For Organizations pages ask for your email. You can add your name, your organization, details of your event or program, and a message. Squarespace passes what you send to our email, and Google checks each form for spam. If you email us, your message goes to the same inbox, which Google runs. We use your message to reply to you.

If you tell us about colleagues or your organization, we use it for that conversation and nothing else.

Booking a call

Calendly runs our booking pages. It collects your name, email and time zone. You can add a phone number, a note, and the email addresses of anyone you'd like to invite. Calls take place on Google Meet. We use this information to schedule and hold the call.

Calendly's notetaker is on for these calls. It joins the call as a participant, lets you know it's recording, and gives us a recording, a transcript and a summary. If you'd rather not be recorded, say so before or at the start of the call and we'll turn it off.

Taking the Scorecard

The Scorecard is a separate app that appears inside our website, and OpenAI hosts it. It asks about your role level, whether you work in a global organization and your current career focus, followed by 16 questions. It calculates your scores in your browser.

Before it shows your results, it asks for your name, your email, the follow-up you'd like, your agreement to store your responses, and whether you'd like emails from us. Once you submit, the app sends all of this, with your answers and scores, to our Google account. We use it to see your results and to follow up if you ask us to. We don't send you insights by email unless you tick that box.

The scores are a guide for you. We don't use them to make decisions about you.

Joining our email course or newsletter

Kit sends our email course and The Invisible Rulebook, Eva's newsletter. The course asks for your first name and email. The newsletter asks for your email. Kit records which emails you open and which links you click, and we use that to see which letters people find useful. We publish the same letters on Substack, and if you subscribe there, Substack holds your subscription.

Working with Eva

During a Leadership Strategy Sprint, you send Eva a brief, and she keeps her notes and the written summaries she sends you. We store them in our Google email and files and use them to do the work. We keep what you share in a Sprint confidential, and we don't record Sprint sessions unless you ask. If a session takes place on Zoom instead of Google Meet, Zoom handles the call.

Information you don't have to give

You can read our website without giving us anything. The forms need your email so we can reply. Calendly needs your name and email to book a call. The Scorecard needs an answer to each question, plus your name, your email and your agreement to store them, before it shows your results. Other fields are optional.

Sharing

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We don't share it with anyone beyond the companies above unless the law requires us to.

Storage outside Canada

All of these companies are based in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed there. Courts and government agencies in the United States can request it under US law. For information from the EU and UK, each company relies on approved transfer safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Security

We protect the accounts that hold your information with two-step verification, and no one but Eva works in them.

If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we'll tell you and report it to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as Canadian law requires.

Cookies and similar technology

Squarespace sets cookies that keep our website working and count visits. Some of its analytics cookies last up to two years. You can accept or decline them in the cookie banner, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block all cookies, the forms may stop working.

Your choices and rights

We don't send marketing email to anyone who hasn't signed up or ticked the box. Each email has an unsubscribe link.

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a purpose you object to. You can withdraw your consent at any time, which stops any use from that point on. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act. There's no charge.

EU and UK visitors

EU and UK data protection law gives you the rights above, plus the right to restrict how we use your information and to receive a copy in a format you can take elsewhere. We rely on your consent for the email course, the newsletter and Scorecard follow-up. We rely on our agreement with you for bookings and Sprints, and on our legitimate interest in running our website and answering messages. You can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Our website is for working professionals, not for anyone under 16. If we learn that someone under 16 has sent us information, we'll delete it.

Links to other sites

Our website links to Amazon, LinkedIn, Spotify and podcast sites, among others. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave our pages.

Changes

We'll post any change to this policy here and update the date at the top. If a change affects information you've already given us, we'll ask before we use it in the new way.
